Newbie here. Do electronic edgefinderes work on aluminum? Is is conductive enough for the edgefinder to work. Is there any sources of diy for these elctric edgefinders? I was looking at Enco's site and they want almost 100 bucks for one.(fowler) Dan

| they work well on aluminum you can get them on ebay for about $30 (not sure the quality ) , i payed about $120 for mine but that was a while back

| If you'll be using the edgefinder to touch off the top of parts, make sure to get one that has some travel in the Z axis. The link above does not and they will break or leave a dent if you go a little too far when touching off the top of your part. |
