Need name of X-Shaped Metal Bars

I want to know the name of the X-Shaped Metal Bars I see in a lot of robots as well as general prototype use.

I believe it is an aluminum material, but can’t seem to find the name of it searching through Google.

I was considering using that material as the frame of a CNC machine that I'd like to build. Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm guessing rigidity and low vibration is the primary goal for the frame.

Depends on what kind of CNC you're making? I made a very sturdy router out of 8020, but if you're cutting metal then no.

Right now, I'm thinking of mostly using it for PCB milling and possibly some woodworking, but it'd be nice to have the option to machine some metal if needed. What would you recommend as a frame for this purpose?

If you're going to be doing full blown metal get a mill. But if you just want to do light aluminum cutting then 8020 is perfect.
