I need to machine ball bearings and need some advice on how best to clamp them in order to machine two flat surfaces opposite each other. The ball bearings are 10mm in diameter.

guessing you're grinding, make a couple of washers of something soft with a smallish hole and sandwich the bearing between them in a grinding vise, do the second side on a magnetic parallel (closer poles than the mag chuck directly) and the faces will come out perfectly parallel. 10mm, hmmm, place a thin piece of steel behind them on the parallel for support
