I have a 65mm 12mm pitch trapezoidal OD thread to cut 29.5 in long. In 316SST! I know it is possible to program the profile using a grooving tool to prevent chatter that one would get using a full profile tool. I have never done this. I have Bobcadcam and Mastercam9 access. Not real familiar with lathe features but usually can fumble through. Would it be easier to write the program myself? (as is often the case!) Could someone point me in a direction? Just looking for a shortcut.  |
