So I've got a buddy who's got a Kubota mini-excavator.. The bucket is loose as heck and we want to machine up a new pin and bushings. I was going to go with the following for materials and hardness: Bucket bushings - 4140 Annealed - Machined - Heat Treated to 55HRC Bucket Pin - 4140 Pre Hard (HRC28-32) - Machined with "slight" tapers on the ends to ease fitting of pin into bushings. Any suggestions on alternate materials or different hardness on pins or bushings? cheers! Paul |
