Two weeks ago I bought online at www.chronos.ltd.uk a Glanze 12 mm boring tool (Ref: XC37): http://www.chronos.ltd.uk/acatalog/C..._Tools_77.html Since my lathe uses 12 mm tools. I understand a 12 mm tool is a tool put the bit of the insert at a heigth of 12mm from the toolpost floor, so the bit is exactly at the axis of the lathe. The tool they send me has a heigth of a bit more than 5 mm, so I have to put plates below in order to get the axis at 12mm. The question is: is an error of them because a bad specification or there is something I dont know and is my fault. In order to complain for a change. Thank you very much!! |

| Is 12mm not the diameter of the bar? Boring bars are typicaly sized by their shank diameter and as previously mentioned the minimum hole size they will go into. The offset from the centerline of the bar to the cuting edge tip is a given specification of the bar and unique to it.
