Hi everyone, anyone got any pointers as to what bit I should be using to engrave aluminium on my mini mill plus anywhere to buy them in the UK?

A lot of times I use a ball endmill . .0156 to .0625. Looks fine and it's easy.

carbide spot drills work great for shallow depth engraving

[crabbass]

60 deg half round tools with a conical grind work great in Al. you can make verry fine lines and use lots of different text styles while working in a small area.

rich cree, you might find engraving tools under "single lip cutters" like the half rounds mentioned above.
