Tricool TC1 Synthetic coolant -- diluted 20/1. I have used this for eight years on acrylic. It has excellent rust inhibiting qualities, it does a great job cooling and lubricating (I have taken IR thermometer readings inches behind a tool as it cut 3-inch-thick acrylic and have consistently gotten readings below 95 degrees Fahrenheit, but this can vary depending on many variables), and leaves no difficult-to-clean residue -- just wipe with a damp cloth, scuff lightly, and you are ready to bond. I have massive, 1,000-plus-gallon aquariums out there for eight years that still have crystal-clear bonds and zero crazing anywhere, that were machined using Tricool. Good luck. |
