I thought this would be the best general area to post this, if not feel free to move it. Can anyone please give me their opinions on what brands of CNCs seem be really nice quality, reliable, rigid, etc. I will be looking for a used 3 axis vertical CNC, not a conversational or some converted knee-mill. I'm realistically looking for a slightly older machine, late 80's early 90's. I am familiar with Matsuuras, Kitamuras, and Bridgeports of that area. Anyone know whats decent, whats crappy, etc. Any suggestions or opinions would be greatly appreciated. |

| You most likely won't find a great machine for 10K -15 K. I would spend 15K - 20K and get a Mori Seiki Junior with a Fanuc control. Matsuurras look good too but they mostly have Yasnac controls. If you are looking for an older machine, go with a Fanuc control on a good Japanese machine. A good local dealer helps too, if you need parts or service. ( you will eventually ) |

| You're right about eventually needed parts and service ![]() I have found a great local company that sells and services machine tools. Now hopefully I can win an auction! |
