I wasn't sure if this would be the right catagory to ask this question, so let me know if it should be addressed somewhere else. I'm cleaning out my shop from old auction purchases and came across a bunch of collets that cannot be identified by all means that I have found. I went through every page of hardinge since one collet is their's, but I'm guessing it was probably a special master and it is set up for s-15 pads. The number on the collet is 8837c/S12. There are two collet adaptation chucks with these collets that would bolt to the spindle but the inside measurements don't match an A series or D series dimensions, does anyone know of any companies that might have offered this type of attachment on a cnc machine of a foriegn make? A friend of mine thought it might be from a cnc machining center? I also have a pile of turret tooling that could posssibly be from the same machine. The dimensions on the mounting hole centers don't match any american machine that I have tried to cross reference these with. I tried the part numbers on google with no luck either. I can take some pictures and post them if it might help. I just hate to throw this stuff in the trash, it might be usefull to someone. The collet has a 50mm x 1.50 thread, the back bearing area is 2.166, the outer face od is 2.715 and the overall length is about 5-7/8". I'll have to get the numbers off of the tooling, standard looking stuff outside of some holders having up tp three holes for tooling, I've never seen any like this before. Maybe someone knows of more places to find collet specifications, outside of the usual 1c, 5c, standard stuff. Thanks for any help, Randy |
