Hey, So I need to do some contour machining with an 1/8 endmill, I just learned how terrible of an idea it is to use an ER-16 Holder when your tool does not hit the set screw. My boss says he prefers parles but admits that's only because we already have a few Parlec holders. We're using a Haas TM-1 so there's not need to ultra high speed capabilities or anything here. We plan on buying 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4" holders. Most likely with MSC because they ship to us very fast, sometimes next day and we want these parts done by the end of the week. MSC offers a few brands but I'm considering Parlec, Accupro or Kennametal. Hertel is also an option if anyone has an opinion on this. Basically I'm lookin for advice on which holders you experienced guys out there believe are best. Also if anyone knows of even better ways to hold 1/8" endmills besides an endmill holder I'm open to your advice.

In R-8 I like Hardinge and Lyndex in that order. In QC-40 (Quick change 40 NMTB) Collis is my first choice and my go-to brand. Bison (Toolmex) in my experience are consistantly nicer than Kennemetal in the QC40. Cyclotronguy |

| I would use tools that you already have in your arsenal to be more standardized. Since you do shop through MSC as I do, I would go with Kennametal since they are tight partners and offer free application and tech support on all their products. |
