Can Hex Dies Be Held By Round Die Holder?

Title pretty much says it all. I cannot find any round metric dies, and since I already have a great quantity of good quality hex dies, I don't really feel like purchasing them anyways. So can the hex ones be held in a round die holder, like the ones placed in the lathe tailstock to align them to the workpiece. Thx

I don't really see why not, I would make a round holder to match O.D. and drill & tap 6 holes for set screws pushing against flats on hex.
