How much of a PITA is a belt drive lathe? How much noisier is a gear head lathe? I am pondering over the Grizzly G4003G and the G9249. I like the extra "Gunsmithing " features of the 4003, but I don't want a machine that is a noisy racket either. Also, speaking of the 4003G, how much nicer is it to have the roller bearing tips on the follow and steady rests? Is it a very nice thing to have?, or just a luxury gimmick? Thanks for any opinions... Mike |
