Are ingersoll and Iscar chamdrill inserts the same??

From the pictures, they sure do look exactly the same and they even come i the exact same 2pcs per box yellow foam box, just a different label. Anyone compared to 2 pcs together?

They are, just like the "multimaster" and "chipsurfer" inserts.

yea, berkshire hathaway bought IMC group back in 2006. Warren Buffett was hanging out in the iscar booth doing meet and greets. I don't think Jimmy Buffett was around, though .

I've worked 3 IMTS's as an AE, all I can say is Technara tooling always has the best attraction... the chinese contortionists . They really take the edge off of the long days and all of the people saying "Hey, can this machine rigid tap??!?!?!?!?" and "hey... how does that part get from the left spindle to the right spindle?!"

It took 3 IMTS's for people to FINALLY stop asking me if the 5, 9 and/or 12 axis machines will rigid tap...

The irony was, at IMTS2008, the NMV8000 5 axis mill in the Mori Seiki booth was a prototype and when I tried to rigid tap, the machine would go comatose and lock up. So if I were asked that question, it would be an honest NOPE! NOPE IT DOESN'T!!!!!!

But that sum'b*tch took a 4" high feed facemill and helical ramped 24" diameter piece of 1045 steel down at 280IPM... shook the floor so bad Makino guys came over and begged me to stop breaking their .02" ball end mills

If you are interested in Warren Buffett you might find his biography by Alice Schroeder interesting;

dont risk it if you're not 100% sure. i'd rather spend 10 dollars more to be right than 68 dollars to be wrong.

Im trying to source a bunch of inserts for my buddys shop. He currently uses Guhring RT800WP firex inserts in 20RkC carbon steel doing mass production flange forgings. I call them hockey pucks. I got a lot of 17 16mm guhrings for him for now, but hes always looking for drills and korloy lathe inserts. He doesnt feel like spending $65 a insert for the guhrings at the store when I can snag them on ebay from time to time for $25 and I sell them to him for $45. I make a quick $20 on each one. If I could find a huge lot of 16mm and 19mm guhring firex inserts at a good price, id buy it. Getting them for $25 was like 75% off list! lol.
