Drill chuck holder

My MicroLux mini mill came with a (MT3)drill chuck which attaches to the spindle with a MT3 shank and draw bar. How does the shank connect to the
chuck? Is it a press fit?

Drill chuck usually has tapered hole and shank fits tight, pressed in and hard to take apart.
Taking them apart is usually done with tapered wedges pushing them apart from behind.

Or, you can use a drift or pin punch through the chuck jaws to knock the arbor out of the chuck.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll press the chuck onto the arbor and use it as a dedicated unit.
