I need to make about a dozen stamps with some small lettering on them to stamp into 316 stainless. Any recommendations for material type and heat treatment? |

| 01 tool steel will work as it is easily machined and will hold a sharp edge. You can torch harden and quench in oil for a small run. If you need these stamps for long use, consider A2 air hard or M2, both of which you will probably have to send out for heat treat. |
