Hey, I've gotta drill n tap a dozen holes with 3/8" - 16 into a 1/2" thick plate of Rockwell 35 C steel. Is this safe to run on my Haas TM-1 or would I be better off hand tapping these? What problems do people run into when rigid tapping such a hard material? Also is there any preffered Drill type for Drill Steel that's Rockwell C 30 - 40?
