Guys, I have brought a cnc router from China that came with ucancam software. Problem is, it doesn't come with any real "setup and get going instructions" I have played about with the software but not really sure... the machine is a sk 3226c brought from WWW.SIGNSTECH.COM does anyone have one that maybe able to help me? I have put a small program on a usb dongle and loaded it to the machine fine, when I come to run the program it doesn't do much?? brought from this guy here who isn't helping much thanks chris |

| First off, I have a machining center, a cnc mill, a cnc lathe and know nothing about routers. I won't buy anything Chinese unless there are no other options. A good quantity of Chinese products are junk, brand new right out of the box, the others expire in 10% of the time a higher priced product made elsewhere will last. Just curious, how much did you save over a repeatable unit that was of higher quality? Sometimes it is better to buy something second hand if cost is an issue. I just wonder when people are going to take a stand against Chinese junk that ends up in the local landfill. I won't sell out my country or it's workers like that. I am not singling you out or picking on you, I give the same speech to everyone. If there isn't any product domestic to you to buy, try to see if anything is made in a neighboring country to you. You really don't save anything when the product does not live up to expectations. |

| I have read that reading cut files from one of those usb memory sticks can cause problems; something about how the info is accessed or something. I would try to run the machine with a file from your hard drive. Also, the seller advertises one year unlimited phone support. I would hold him to that. I don't have that machine so I can't help further. Sorry. |

| Hi Dualkit, while I agree with most of what you say, those of us on the other side of the pond have different circumstances from you. You have a lot of very nice machinery available at 101 different places and most with very competitive pricing. Over here it just isn't so. The following will give you an idea of what I am talking about. I have a Tig welder which I want to use for hobby purposes (chassis, etc.) so I went out to buy or hire a bottle of argon gas. The only bottles for sale are the little 10 - 13kg (11 - 28lb) bottles and these cost approximately $240USD plus fill cost. The rental bottles (medium and large) cost $220USD per year rental (regardless of size) plus refill cost. Now tell me what that same thing would cost in the states per year? Needless to say, I still haven't got a bottle and am rethinking whether it's really that important to me to do tig welding or not..... In the end, you look for cheaper alternatives even if they don't do what the better more well known brands will do. I'm currently facing the same question with chinese plasma units. I'd love to build/buy a cnc plasma machine but can't afford the imported American plasma units which work perfectly in conjunction with the all-so-important THC (torch height control) units. I can buy a much cheaper imported Chinese plasma unit but will I be able to get the THC to function properly with a Chinese unit? Who knows, maybe yes and maybe no.... |
