Does anyone use Steel tape handles anymore? If so for what? I found one around the shop the other day and was wondering if I'll ever really use it.

| And throw those darn steel tape handles out. Nobody uses those things any more! Actually, I don't recall ever seeing one, so they must be older than dirt! ![]() ![]() DC

| Now you confused me even more. How do you use it for tapping? It's not a manual tap holder, It's two cams with scissor like handles coming off them, the cams are connected to a plate, one cam can't rotate and the other can.

| haha sorry. I am talking about a Steel Tape Clamp handle. No Typos there. I've included a Pic, I think it's to clamp down on something like a tape measurer but since tape measurers have thier own clamps I was wondering what the use for these are now a days.

| This clamp was used by surveyors to hold the steel tape. See link below for use. These are still available for purchase, but any surveyor my company has used uses lasers and GPS. http://www.globalsecurity.org/milita...fm/6-2/Ch2.htm |
