| Also, for face milling a slight tilt to your tram (heavy on the leading edge) is the appropriate setup. Yes this will leave a concave surface, but it will be minuscule. This is done to keep the trailing edge of the cutter from picking out little gouges. Light lubrication is required to keep the chips from welding. I typically will run the spout of the cutting oil can down the center of the cut once before starting. This is all that it takes.
