I have a small job the require turning and threading (1/4-20x 1.0) on a Haas TL1. Any advise. Feeds, speeds tooling type. Any info would be helpful. I need all the ammo I can gather for I've read G10 is a muther. Never have cut this stuff before. Thanks for all replies.

What you need to use is the ER indexable carbide trianglar laid down threading system, with insert size of 16. All the major carbide insert manufacturers make these inserts, but be careful not to purchase Sandvik, has whilst they look the same they won't interchange. A really good site for getting some good info is "Vardex tools" and this is a link to their tech help pages which cover all you ever need to know about using indexable threading inserts or thread milling: http://www.vargus.com/vardex/templat...spx?pCatId=8#1 Hope this help you?
