| My local (Ohio) aluminum supplier charges top dollar AND has a $16 dollar cutting charge ![]() The online sellers usually have many sizes in stock and cutting fees don't apply. Three of my online favorites are (in no particular order) SpeedyMetals Online Metal Supply Shapiro Supply All sell on Ebay, and shipping charges are reasonable.

| Never bought from onlinemetals.com, but have compared prices. They seem to be about 10-20% higher than local places we have credit accounts with. I think they give discounts on larger orders. The shipping is what will kill you probably. |

| I often buy my materials online and have seldom been disappointed. I usually compare SHIPPED prices from three places: Metals Depot, Industrial Metal Sales and Online Metals. You'll often find that what looks like a great deal is offset by a major difference in shipping. I also frequently buy through McMaster Carr because they often are only a couple of percent higher but I can get it standard the next day if I need it (and their shipping costs can't be beat!). There are a bunch of sources out there but the ones I mentioned seem to be pretty good. My last batch of material was from Online (usually they are the lowest) and I saved about $30 on about 60lbs of various aluminum materials. All of the materials I have ordered through these sources has been first quality direct-from-the-mill, in other words it's not junk. |
