I have two slots that I need to cut. First is .118 wide and .039 deep. Second is .068 wide and .068 deep. The endmill is a 3 flute. I have to cut 150 parts with this detail so I need some help with the speeds and feeds. I'm not familiar with such a small endmill. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Using a HAAS VF3-SS with Blaser BC-40 NF coolant. |

| If the endmill is carbide, you'll be restricted by your max RPM. Even at 200 SFPM you're already hitting over 12,000 rpm. And say 0.0002" per tooth per rev you're looking at a feedrate of 7 IPM. If you know what brand the endmill is, pretty much all the suppliers will list their recommended speeds/feeds/DOC's.WOC's on their websites/catalogues. |

| First very important question: Which lubricant do you have ?? If you have cutting oil (the best for stainless steel) Use.Vc = 50m/min , Vf = 180mm/min depth (ap )= 0.5mm If you have water soluble oil, reduce the depth... (ap = 0.25maximum) |

| HI Without more info its hard to say the best way to go about this problem. Are you wanting to do both slots with the same tool?? I personally would look at 2 different size tools its an extra expence but worth it for tool life. I use alot of endmills and i use sgs (see sgstools.com) not sure what tool your using but sgs are a good endmill |
