hello, we are new to solid carbide drills, we need some advice on cutting speeds and feeds for aluminium castings 356 T6 , suitable coatings that can prolong life and increase productivity, typical sizes we use are 10.2 and 14mm both blind and thru holes. thanks in advance rags |

| take a look at kennametal or garr's three flute carbides ,they are a fast cutting drill which looks more as though the machine is punching the hole through rather than drilling , i wouldn t be concerned with using coated carbides for aluminum casts by the time the drill wears out it it weill have paid for itself many times over
