Need to convert a JPEG to DXF file

What is a good software to convert a JPEG to DXF. I have tried to download some free stuff but not the results I was hoping for. I may not be able to with this picture. Here is the picture. Thanks for any help!

That is perfect! Thanks so much. What did you use to convert it? I am going to need a lot more in the future.

Simple designs like this are pretty easy to trace in just about any cad software that is worth much. Start with a spline and convert it to a polyline.

Corel draw also does a trace thing. It usually has to be cleaned up quite a bit. It really depends on the outline itself and the quality of the image.

I think if I traced and cleaned up in corel, it would take the same amount of time to redraw in Turbocad. In Turbocad, or any 3D cad, it could be further manipulated into a 3D drawing format for 3D cam.

Then again, if you used Corel to trace, you could change the shading in it and then import into Meshcam and it would convert to a 3D toolpath.

There are a bunch of ways to get there. You can arrive quickly and in style or slower and have trouble parking your mule. Depends on the money you spend for software and your experience with it.

I loaded it into VcarvePro selected the “fit vectors to bitmap” option and exported the result as DXF. Took around 45 seconds, but I had to sneeze so maybe less time.

And yet another weight on the scale of whether or not I will get Vcarve.

    Tipping heavily already in favor.
