Im looking for a high quality pin vice or precision 'micro chuck' sized to hold very small numbered drills. I want to chuck it in a collet or larger drill chuck. - Dumb question, why are 'good' pin vices like these Starrets knurled on the shanks, why wouldnt they be ground smooth? Are the knurls really intened for someone to hold/turn them by hand? I dont get it. http://www.below-retail.net/starrett...tools_162.html - Ive probably gambled on 3 offshore micro chucks now. they are inexpensive but are basically junk. Are there any good N-Am/euro tools? |

| I use an Albrecht, a 0-1/8 and a 1/32-1/2 with a lock, both keyless. They run perfect and will hold the smallest drills. ...pin vises are for hand work. If you find one that turns on center, save it...it's one in a million. pix
