| That's where you take an ugly chunk of steel that has been hacked off with an oxyacetylene torch with too small of a tip, and try to smooth the edge with an angle grinder

| Free Form refers to optical lenses or similar surfaces- not only are they aspherised, but they may also be deliberately non symetrical.
