| Hello all, was wondering if anybody could help me. I am about to be machining S106 nitritic 3%Cr-Mo aerospace/crankshaft and autosport steel and i would like to know some suggestions or tried and tested figures for drilling speeds and feeds. I have machined S144 before but the chemical compo is quite different. Should i try similar s&f's? Any feedback would be great, ta J. P.S First time user/thread (don't even know what one is) hopefully this gets read. |

| Not trying to be a smarta$$ here, but a good place to start is by calling the manufacturer of the drill you will be using. I will say that their speeds and feeds (feeds especially) are sometimes a little high. But then they make money selling the drills. Last edited by g-codeguy; 05-18-2008 at 02:55 PM.
