Being a newcomer to CNC milling, I need to buy a number of accessories for my Syil X2 CNC mill. I need items such as: Precision blocks (1-2-3 blocks) a screwless precision vice dial test guage thin parallels feeler guages etc Some are easy to find, others like the 1-2-3 blocks I'm having real difficulties fnding in the UK. What I'd like to see is a supplier similar to the US little machine shop. I know of Axminster, chester and machine mart - are there any other big, well stocked suppliers in the UK? I have bought from the little machine shop but shipping will be too prohibitive for heavier items! Thanks, Paul. |

| These two should get you started. http://www.chronos.ltd.uk/ http://www.rdgtools.co.uk/ I use both regularly with no problems but it always pays to shop around. |

| Thanks for that. Just ordered a load with Chronos. I also found these people but they seemed a little more expensive: http://www.lineartools.co.uk/script/site/default.asp Paul. |

| I'm in the UK and use J&L Industrial Supply www.JLindustrial.Co.UK I've got no connections with them apart from being a satisfied customer. Obviously RS supplies are good too, but for proper milling and turning stuff J&L are the chaps.

| Hi there - you could pick up a copy of Model Engineers Workshop in your local WHSmiths - it's about 70% adverts for suppliers. As well as the above links, you might want to check out Warco: http://www.warco.co.uk/ ARC Eurotrade: http://www.arceurotrade.co.uk/ Cheers. |

I have spend over 30 years in the tooling industry, and found it very difficult to find an engineering tooling item on the internet, due to the way that search engines normally rank both non-UK suppliers and database type directory sites, so you are forced to troll through them in the hope that you can find what you are looking for. This is really frustrating when you are busy and need to find a supplier quickly! So I created MC-Tooling.com, which is not just “another online directory”, it is a B2B site run by experienced tooling engineers for engineers and designed to be a true tooling guide – crammed full with blue chip companies, high technical content and useful links: http://www.mctooling.com/ As we upgrade the site in September we are still adding stuff back on the site, so if you cannot find what you are looking, my phone number on every product page, so feel free to ring me ok? |
