| Is there a formula to find my starting Z (to chase a thread on a cnc turning center) after changing the speed? For example: I threaded a part at g97 s500 starting z.1 off face...I want to pick up lead running g97 s600. How would I find that new z starting point? |

| I agree; should be the same, but if your machine needs acceleration space to get things synchronized Z0.1 clearance may not be enough at the higher speed. You could move it out by one or two pitches; i.e for 8tpi move to Z0.225, 10tpi move to 0.2, etc.
