| Yes. I assume by the size that you have a large machine. You need to tell us what you are using to route this and spindle size plus max speed of spindle. it would also help to know what type of aluminum you are thinking of using to make the part. |

| Good morning Todd, We have a 4 x 8 router, porter cable 3 1/4 variable spd (10,000-25,000 rpm). I'm in the process of cutting some .75 6061 T-6. I've been running around 5-6 ipm, air coolant sems to work fine for the first .50 then I have to switch to liquid coolant. I've been doing .12 deep passes, but I think .25 would be no prob. This machine is only a few weeks old, so we're still in the learning curve. For got to mention, we're using a .25 3flute end mill. There is a 2 flute in the pic, but I'm using that to keep going until fedex shows up with my bits. Mike |
