I've got to turn a 3.5" NPT internal thread. I know I need to turn a taper of 3/4 inch per foot which is no problem (That's works out to an angle of what, 1.877 degrees) I'm not really sure what to turn the ID bore to. Do I turn it to an ID of 4" and taper in? Or would that only be for an OD thread? How do I figure out how deep to take the threading? If anyone could show me how to calculate these that'd be appreciated so then I can do this in the future. Thanks! |
