| I guess this forum is like a living document. you should be able to find every thing you need to know here. and if you cant then you could ask and someone will happily tell you the answer. You could start by looking at this unfinished basic guide http://cnczone.com/forums/attachment...achmentid=2375 ( No one wanted to help me with it, so I have shelved the project for the moment.) Also you can look through here for definitions. (Again it is unfinished for the above reasons ) http://cnczone.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=172I guess after that it is just a matter of sifting through the posts on here. |

| I have two books that I use for reference and they are also excellent for someone wanting to learn CNC programming in depth, They are 'Computer Numerical Control Programming' by Michael Sava & Joseph Puszai ISBN 0-13-156084-0. And Computer Numerical Control By Warren S. Seames (SME) ISBN 0-8273-3782-5. You may be able to pick these up on ebay. Practically all subjects of CNC programming and machine set-up are covered by these two books. Al

| BTW if you want to try your code out and you don't have a machine at home, you can test out your G-code on a free graphic simulator http://www.cncsimulator.com/ Al
