Hi, I will be putting together a small CNC machine for very light metal working and PCB milling. Are there any sites to where I can purchase the right spindle or find a diy site for making spindles. Thanks, |

| Funny, I was about to ask the same thing. I specifically need a spindle with a 2.5" thru-hole, but I don't need the hp that usually comes with a spindle that size. And 1 hp would be quite sufficient for my purpose. I'm not sure of the key design elements of spindles, but I was thinking it could be made using a 8" or 10" chuck that has a thru-hole that size, with the rest of the spindle made from round tube/plate/angular contact bearings. If your purposes are smaller though, check out LMS as they sell spindles and spindle housings for the chinese hobby-sized lathes/mills. Cheers, -Neil. |
