| Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. I am a retired guy just messing around in my home shop. I build hot rods on a part time basis and use my CNC mill to make hard to get parts. I recently bought on Ebay a spray mist unit made by SMC. It looks like a new one, but as often happens, there is no documentation. Oh well, how hard can it be, right? There is a input for air, a cap to pour in coolant. A output connection to the sprayer, two guages showing pressure coming in and another showing pressue in the coolant tank. There is a manual button as well as a seloniod signal input. My problem is that when I activate the unit I get a solid stream of coolant from the nozzle. It would empty the tank in a few minutes if left on. I expected to get an ajustable mist, not a stream of fluid. Can anyone help me with this? Does anyone have some instructions for this unit? I think I got a good deal on it. New ones list for around $700. But..... if it won't make a mist I guess it will be money wasted. Thanks in advance for any help you might give. I have some pictures of the unit if anyone wants a look at it. LannyN |

Here are some pictures of the unit. I am afraid they are a little blurry. The sprayer is simply a dual head type. The nozzles are just a hole in some plastic, nothing special. Are you thinking that is the problem? Is there some special type of nozzle required? |

I assumed the mixing was done internally and a air/fluid mixture would be produced. If there is something more to the unit I guess I am out of luck. I feel a little silly if I am missing something obvious. Again, I really do appreciate your help. Lanny |

| Lanny, You also need a special manifold and a venturi type nozzle to make it work...these are available if you do a search. I don't see it costing any more than $100-$150 to finish it up. You have the expensive part already. The mixing is actually done at the nozzle. Here you go, see the "LMV" mixing valve at the bottom. http://www.smcetech.com/CC_host/page...A_E,Node_13061)) |

| Their website is being difficult. Go to the following link, then select "air preparation" then "lubricators" http://www.smcusa.com/sections/products/airline.asp |
