Making dies for a blacksmith power hammer out of 2"X2" tool bar. 'Tool bar' is used for farm implements, often as sub-soilers/rippers. Supposed to be almost as strong as tool steel but more abrassive resistant. How do I mill this material to profile the dies. I've never milled anything other mild steel and AL. Speed/feed rate/cutter/lubrication info would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to take an expensive carbide cutter to this 'just to see what happens'!!! |
