So i'm looking into buying a lathe... I've read about busy bee but i've heard more bad than good about them and the heard about grizzly lathes. Has anyone had any experience with grizzly lathes? I'm looking to buy a lathe with around a 20" bed and am looking to spend around $1500 max. I don't want to buy crap so any insight on lathes around $1500 would be helpful thanks!! |

| Hi: Depending on what you intened to manufacture, you will probaly be better off with a used lathe. I purchased a Southbend 10K lathe used in excellent condition for 2k. It came fully tooled. I've worked with the Busy Bee machine tools, and found them to be pretty crappy (only my opinion).I don't think Grizzly ships to Canada yet, and with the price of fuel, driving down to purchase one in the States will add $'s to the cost. regards |
