chart on threads

hello to everyone outthere,
I am begining to do some threading on my lathe and I would like to know if theres a chart I can dowload that will show how big to cut the O.D before you start threading also if it shows the speed and feeds.

Using the numbers in the "Thread-cutting Aid" could put you below the minimum major diameter allowed by the ASME spec.

No flame intended, just a statement of fact. The efunda link you posted is as good a suggestion as any I could make to somebody looking for a wall chart.

Buy a machinist handbook. It is worth the $85. Has all the information you are looking for.

i normally cut the od .005 less than the thread size
1/2-13 would be .495
3/8-16 would be .370
a good starting point
