I have a Taig 2019 with a small vise. It will open to 2 and 3/8 inches. But I want to mill some parts from a 0.25x3x48" piece of aluminum. Cut a part, move my block down 1", cut another part, move another 1", etc. Any ideas?

| Here's the vise I have. http://www.taigtools.com/Images/1225b1.JPG I was thinking the same thing you said. I might be able to mill some smaller end plates and just replace them on the vise I have. I only need another 1/4" or so and I think I can relieve that much space. I plan to try this weekend.

| See the gap between the vise jaws? that darker metal is usualy a removeable facing. On mine they are screwed in. Take them off and you got your extra space ![]() I think they're there to stop damage to the vise but it shouldn't matter on a small run.
