indexing head

Hi all,
In my latest harbor freight catalog they have a 6" and 8" rotating indexing head on sale. Would the 8" indexing head be to big for a harbor freight 33686 mill/drill? How does the HF indexing head compare to one sold by The little machince shop or Enco?

Hi All,
I did not get any response from anyone. Can someone recommend a indexing head? I think Enco has a similar head as Harbor freight. I would like the 8" one but it may not fit.

Depends what you think you need to do with one . In 25 years as a self employed machinist , I have used an index head about 5 times . splined shaft , feed roller for wood planer .on the other hand , my 5C spin jig gets a real work out . For $49 ( plus collets )you get a jig that will split a circle onto 360 degrees , mill hex heads , Grind square broaches , spin grind small pins , grind end mills . What else do you need to do ?

Thanks for the input. I’ve been doing more reading on this site and research. I guess I thought rotary tables and indexing heads were the same. I have more need for just a rotating vertical and horizontal table. The Phase II V/H rotary table has an indexing plates that I can add later so I am leaning that direction. The reason I was looking for a indexing table is that I wanted to make timing pulleys for CNC mill/drill conversion. The 5C spin jug you mentioned sounds very interesting. Where can I get something like that?
