Hello everyone, I am trying to machine a latch button for one of my projects. The part will eventually be cast but for now we need to have them machined. Material is SS17-4ph. See pictures. Any suggestions on what method would make this part the fastest? Rotary table? 5axis? We had one of our suppliers suggest to make the part on a swiss turn citizen, by cutting a female of the part in the sub spindle collet. However when the CAM simulator showed 7 minutres /part, way too long in my opinion. The part is approx. 20mm X 6mm X 6mm .All suggestions welcome! thanks |

| 7 minutes to machine in my opinion isn't unreasonable. Look at a horizontal. Maybe 2 clampings that way. Don't expect the time to some down too much.
