Hi, I need some stainless steel shim stock that is resistant to tannic acid (from wood). I have some stainless shim stock that reacts with the tannins as a blue stain. Does anyone know of or can point me in the direction of stainless shim stock which wouldn't react with tannic acid? |

| Probably looking for 316L or may have to go with a passivated shim stock that has the pores closed on it. 318 might work but a lot harder to get. I do think any of the 400 series will work, you might could try some 13-8, 17-4, or 15-5 but again they are also going to be hard to get. |
