How much if any do parts grow during carburizing. I am doing 0.500" dia. pins made of 8620 and having a case put on them 0.020" thick. I am wondering how much to compensate for growth. |

| If you are having them done by a "professional" in a vacuum furnace the growth will be between 0 and .001. It is a very stable process when done the best way. If you need high precision leave .010 - .015 for grinding.
