Anyone have any good tricks for raising coolant pressures on old machines(short of installing a new pump)? I'm looking for something quick, cheap, and something that will not blow the seals out of the old pump

| There are several considerations: 1. is your coolant pump being used to just wash chips away outside the spindle or is this coolant thru the spindle? 2. Either way, you may have to buy a new pump and you should check your fittings as well as your coolant lines in order to determine that they can handle the raised coolant pressure. If you have coolant thru the spindle then you will have to replace the dueblin coupling at the rear of the spindle to handle the increased coolant pressure. Of course, it all depends upon how much more coolant pressure you desire. |

| If you have a really old machine it would be save to say you don't have coolant through the spindle, and you don't have a positive displacement pump, right. If so there are only two ways togo. New pump, or reduce the coolant line in dia. right before the outlet with the smallest noozle you can find. |
