I have a Hitachi Seiki 4a ram type turret lathe, and can not disconnect the cross slide for a taper attachment, so I am hoping someone will know what is necessary to do tapers on this lathe. I am also looking for a manual, oiling and greasing procedures would be a bonus. It is a great unit, heavy smooth and precise, but what a bugger to find info on.
