| I mentioned in my post that earning machinists wages paid for getting the degrees, actually with money to spare. When I started my own business the degrees allowed me to get college teaching positions to pay the bills and still leave enough time to run the business.

| get a degree, be sure to add a heavy dose of comuters premed, and engineering. Get into medical manufacturing, particuarly orthopaedics.. with a growing aging population, and a youth into extreme sports, there is a massive need for repair parts for humans. knees and hips are jus the beginning, wrist plates, spinal fixation.. this industry needs bright minds |

Very good points. As I mentioned I am involved in disability products; when I started going out and marketing my products at conferences and exhibitons I found it very nice to be able to hold my own with MDs and other professionals when it came to letters after my name. Being able to put up the arrogant know-it-all acadenic front when needed is useful; combining that with the ability to make it happen is invaluable.
