| Hi, I'm not very knowledgeable about this subject but just need your thoughts here. What kind of steel would be a good choice for making a machine hammer. The hammer would be made of two parts, two steel rod stock. What kind of steel would be good to produce mass produce this hammer. I was looking at 1018 or 1020 steel. I'm looking for for something with good machinabilty, cheap, and with decent mechanical properties. Any basic recommendations to head me in the right direction I know my questions are pretty vague but I want to see what anyone here would instinctively recommend. Thanks. ALL comments are appreciated. |
