I am working with some bicycle components. I want to bore out the bearing cone for the axle so I can use a shoulder bolt through it instead of a threaded axle. The question is can I just throw this in the lathe and drill it out, will I need a carbide tool? I only need to enlarge it enough to remove the threads but I'm not sure if its too hard to be machined. Thanks Matt |
