I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has any experience turning off centre? (ie turning the sides of crankshaft counterbalances with a lathe tool on an MTM machine?) What sort of tools/feeds/general toolpathing strategy did you use? I did some milling offcentre using CYZ Axis simultaneously and found pretty good results using wiper inserts and offsetting 1/4 of the cutter diameter behind the centreline. machine is a mazak Integrex 400ST (Baxis upper turret, lower turret, second spindle, in case you are wondering)  |
