help with very small OD turning

Our screw machine is down and I have to get these pins running a our cnc lathe. The tip is about 1.8mm in dia and after about 12mm it starts a taper that goes to about 3.7mm dia. and the over all length about 33mm long. Anyway I am having problems with the first 10mm being over sized because it's so narrow that the cutter is pushing the part down. Heres the setup I have in there now.
It's 3/16 4140 round stock. I’m using a 55-degree, .4mm nose radius sandvic insert. This thing is getting annoying so any help would be nice.

Do you have a balance turn tool holder from your screw machine that would fit your cnc lathe?

Ive been down this road a million times.A lot depends on quanities, tolerance and of course when you need them. As stated above a roller box tool would work, they will remove an amazing amount of stock and hold size well. Getting to size in one cut can help eliminate flexing but chip flow must be smooth.
